Questions, Questions, Questions...

This is up on the block for discussion. Please read and let everyone know where you stand on this one. I vote for not changing anything... just sayin'.

"Bob, i wanted to talk to you about the deadline at 11:59 pm Sat. i know jerry had it this way so that he wouldnt be getting a shit load of calls sunday morning while he was trying to sleep. i think it just makes more sense to have it 11:59 am sunday morning. plus, its through email now. a lot of guys got stuff going on sat nights plus line up changes due injuries and weather conditions change. i think its easier so guys dont get stuck with 5 losses that can ruin your season. this is just a suggestion i know your running things i dont want to step on anybodys toes. i just thought i would throw it out there. are you posting everyones picks before gametime sunday? if so i can see why you are having an early deadline but if your just posting results on tuesday i dont see why it would hurt but thats just me. just let me know what you think. thanks, matt russell"

"would you mind if we put it up for discussion? i was planning on posting everyone's picks by gametime on sundays, and then posting on monday and tuesday also. if you wouldn't mind me copy and pasting some of your email onto the blog and let people speak their mind, i don't see why we wouldn't do what the majority wants. i can see where you're coming from for sure. i've missed my fair share of weeks. my personal opinion is that we should pick the teams that we feel are going to win based on friday's spread. if we push back the deadline, should we also push back the line we use? these are just some thoughts. i'm up for anything, i just want to make sure that it goes well and we all have a good time with it. should we change tradition? i've made picks from maui (for almost an entire season, with the time change and no free press) and from nashville for a season. i'll be running this thing from europe for a couple of weeks this season. i'll email my picks in, as huge of a pain in the ass as it is. i'll even do my best to make sure that everyone is up to date while i'm gone. again, i've missed plenty of weeks in my tenure. i'm not trashing the idea, and i'm sure there are a lot of guys who would feel the same way you do. i'll post the idea, and we'll have it out the old fashioned way? thanks for the input. much appreciated. aloha "

That's the story! How do you feel...?

Aloha!

I feel that 11:59 pm on Saturday is more than fair. Some of you may be surprised to hear that a good amount of participants make their picks on Friday. I understand that you want to have the latest information to make the most educated prediction, but why should you have an advantage over those who are diligent in making time friendly picks. To keep things fair, our administrator is the first person to make his picks, as not to have any bias or inside information as to what others are picking. Every Friday he shoots me an e-mail of his picks to keep thing on the up-and-up. So why should our administrator be at a disadvantage, when all he is attepting to do is keep things as fair as possible. Being the administator can be a thankless job and he stepped up to continue what eveyone wanted to be a part of. A big thanks goes out to Bob for taking over. Everyone who wanted to see the league continue and did nothing about it, should not question the way things are being run and instead thank Bob for a job well done. Discussing rule changes is helpful, but once the season is on its way, things must remain the same. I wish all of you a great season and don't forget to thank Bob for stepping up and running our great league!
